Outdoors: structures

2012-2025

In general I am not a builder of buildings, but rather of objects, casework and furnishings. I have, however, dabbled in construction of larger structures over the years. Here is an assortment of such projects, which I assume are all still standing.

2012, redwood pergola for the Japanese Tea Gardens at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Designed with Nick Offerman, built with the Offerman Woodshop crew.
2013, Explainers Shed: designed for Exploratorium science educators doing public experiments and outreach.
Shed door lifts off of hinges to create work table for demonstrations.
All materials salvaged from Northern California barn and winery timbers. Build with J.D. Sassaman.
2021, Treehouse for my own little woodchucks. Salvaged materials from pre-existing goat house, craigslist free and LeeBuild projects past. Finishing touches added by Symeon, age 2.
